Cell Phone Fraud Alert

There is a scam that is attempting to get debit card PIN's and card numbers.  Many of our customers are getting automated message calls on their cell phones saying that their debit cards have been "locked-out" and to please press 1 to reactivate the card. After pressing 1, the recording continues to prompt for the Personal Identification Number and the card number.  The recording is referencing several banks in the area (Coffee County Bank, Peoples Bank, Security Federal Savings Bank, Bank of Manchester, etc) and may continue to expand to other financial institutions in the area.  Of course, DO NOT provide any protected personal information (like a PIN or a card number) to a recording.  Financial institutions do not utilize automated methods for retrieving or verifying customers personal information.

For more information about protecting yourself, please visit our Customer Awareness page.

Where There's Smoke...

Security Federal's BBQ cook-off team, Prime + 1, did some serious cooking at this year's Smokin' In McMinnville and pitched in to make this year's event a rousing success.  Unfortunately coming up empty handed, the team cooked for Troy McCormick's Kids in the Outdoors Day in the Best of The Butts competition.  However, the team came in 3rd Place in Chicken in the KCBS Backyard Division. Way to go!

Fraud Protection

Due to recent fraudulent activity with ATM and Debit cards in the Southeast, Security Federal is taking preventative actions to protect our customers.  As an extra layer of protection against this potential fraud, we are now requiring our customers to use the Debit card PIN on any transaction where the point of sale allows a PIN number to be entered (like at gas pumps).  We apologize for any inconvenience, however these preventative measures are to avert possible crimes and shield our customers from losses.

Creativity and Hay Bales

We just can't help ourselves. Again we have let the employees loose with bales of hay and their imagination.  Using anything from wheelbarrows, a roll of toilet tissue, and handfuls of gourds they have come up with some rather ingenious and humorous and down right pretty displays.  And we would like to thank all of our folks that pitched in and made it happen.  Check out our autumn decorations by clicking here or on the picture to the left.
