Miss Something? |
|
As in
years past, we get asked about an old news articles or pictures
(the Halloween costume pictures are quite popular) that were
posted on the News and Announcements page from time to time.
The ease of
access to those old articles is continuing in 2012 with the
continuation of the News
and Announcements Archival pages. At the top of this page
(News and Announcements) is a
link to the News and Announcements archival page which has links
to all the archived pages since 2007.
Click here, on the picture on the
right, or on the link at the top of this page to see the
News archives. An archival page for 2012 will be built and
made available as soon as practical.

At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting
last Thursday night, the Security Federal Savings Bank Board of
Directors approved the Officer List for 2012. Among the
officers, this year, there has been some promotions.
Sherry

a local bank just a few days after she graduated high school.
Over
the years, she served as a teller, a loan servicer, in loan
compliance, and as a loan officer. In 2003 she came to Security
Federal to help out with loan
processing and ended up staying as our Compliance Officer,
getting a Community Bank Compliance Officer certification in
2008. Now Sherry is Senior Vice-President/Compliance and
Training Officer. Sherry has a daughter attending the
University Of Tennessee
Chattanooga
and is a member of the McMinnville Noon Exchange Club.
Kelly Basham, CNA
started with Security Federal as a computer consultant
back in 1995 until he was hired full time as the Information
Technologies Officer in 2001. A Certified Network
Administrator, he has also earned two banking diplomas,
supervisory certification, and additional certifications in
basic and advanced network administration since joining the
Bank’s ranks. Now Kelly is the Information
Technologies Officer/Vice-President. He is married, has
three children, eight grandchildren, sits on the Main Street
McMinnville Board of Directors and is a member of the
McMinnville Noon Exchange Club.
Kari Marcum started out as a Teller in November
of 2000 and has served as a New Accounts Representative and a Loan
Processor. In May of 2006 she became the Assistant Branch
Manager for the New Smithville Highway branch. In 2008, she
became a Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer and in 2009
became a Loan Officer and Branch Manager of the Manchester
Highway Branch as well. Now, Kari holds the title of Branch
Manager/Vice-President. She's married with two boys and is
a member of the Morrison Ruritans.
Wendy Kell started with Security Federal in 1998 as a
teller then moved to the newly formed Proof Department in 2000,
to the Trust Department in 2001, to Operations as the Operations
Assistant in 2002, became the Operations Officer in 2003 and was
promoted to Assistant Vice-President in 2007. Now, Wendy is the
Operations Officer/Vice-President. She’s married with a
daughter and a son and serves as the Treasurer of the PAT of
Covenant Academy.

In
addition to our promotions, we would also like to welcome
Matt Rains into the Security Federal fold as he joins us as
a Consumer Loan Officer Trainee. A Warren County native,
graduate of Warren County High School, and graduate of MTSU, he
has been in the accounting field for some seven years. Matt is
married, has a son, enjoys sports and hunting, and just got
started in the current Leadership McMinnville class.
Congratulations to all these fine young ladies and gentlemen!

Let's Get It
Going! |
|
Security
Federal Savings Bank is gearing up for a few rounds of Relay For
Life fund raising events with some favorites from past years on
the schedule:

Friday,
March 23rd, we are hosting a Walking Taco luncheon
(some assembly required) from 11:00 to 1:00 in the Trust and
Operations Building. For only $6.00 you can have a great lunch
of a taco salad, dessert and a drink. However, we do need an
RSVP to make sure we'll have enough for everybody. If you would
like to have lunch with us, enjoy a visit, and raise some money
for Relay For Life, just send an e-mail to
wendy.kell@secfed.net
or angela.brown@secfed.net
to let us know you'll be dropping by.
We will be
presenting the Fourth Annual Clay Busters Tournament this coming
April 7th.
As in years past, it will be 50 rounds, will be held at the Prairie Shooters Club in
Hillsboro, and will start at 8:00AM. Registration includes
a continental breakfast, sporting clays, a ball cap, and lunch.
In addition, the Clay Busters will be selling $10.00 donations
towards a Ruger LCP 380 Carry Pistol with a Desantis Holster
(and a box of ammo!) that
will be given away at 12:00.
As just a reminder, participates must provide their own shells and all
children must be supervised by an adult. Pre-registration
is highly encouraged and that
deadline is March 30th. Sign in time is from 8:00AM to
8:45AM on the 7th. Click here or on the picture above to see some pictures of
last year's event. For more information contact Michael Griffith at 931-473-4483 or
931-808-3853.
We will be
selling gift wrapped and ready to give Easter baskets.
Although each are somewhat different, each gift basket is
stuffed with a variety of toys, candy Easter eggs, games,
stuffed animals, etc., some wrapped in cellophane decorated with
the traditional pastel colors of Easter. The items will be
sold for $3, $5, $10, $15, and $20
depending on basket size and contents. The sale starts at
8:00AM on Friday, March 30th and will go through Friday, April
6th. So, hop on in as
soon as you can and scoop up your Easter baskets before they're
all gone!

The Best We Can Be |
|
All of us here at Security Federal Savings Bank would like to
give a great big hardy "Thank You!" to all of our great customers for voting
us the Southern Standard's Best Of The Best
Bank.
For over 50 years Security Federal employees have considered it
a privilege to serve our customers the best we can by doing our
best to provide our customers with the best products and
services we can that suit our customer's needs.
We also do our best to re-invest in our community by helping
with Relay For Life, Main Street LIVE!, several civic
organizations like Leadership McMinnville, the Exchange Club,
The Lions Club, The Rotary Club, and Main Street McMinnville, to name a few.
And we aren't always striving to be the friendliest bank in town
just because of some policy. We live here too and this is
our community as well. We want to help McMinnville and
Warren County to be the best place it can possibly be.
So, we are very proud and very honored to again offer a big "Thank
you." to everyone that voted us the Best Of The Best Bank in
Warren County. We sincerely appreciate it.

Shopping
Spree |
|

For
the fourth year in a row, we're having a big yard sale on the
West Lawn. It will be on Friday, May 4th
from 7:00AM to 4:00PM. Our employees will be bringing in
all kinds of neat stuff to include children's and adult's clothing
and all manner of household items.
Like
last year we'll be cooking up
hamburger plates (includes a freshly grilled burger, chips,
dessert, and a drink for only $5.00)
to stave off that inevitable hunger that always comes with yard
sale shopping.
All
proceeds from the Yard Sale and Hamburger Plates will be going to Relay For Life. For
more information, please contact Cyndi Cantrell about the Shoppin' or Lisa Hillis about the Munchin' at
931-473-4483.
