Guilty! |
|
LeAnn Cartwright, our Accounting Clerk, has been condemned to an
afternoon of "jail time" for aiding and abetting the Muscular
Dystrophy Association by raising money for McMinnville's "Send a
Kid to Camp" fund raiser.
LeAnn and her
coconspirators will be "arrested" and transported to the MDA's
"Maximum-Appreciation Facility", to be located at Ryan's Family
Steakhouse this year, sentenced, and held for one hour.
Judge Ace Blackwater has already set LeAnn's bail at $1,000.00
and she is off to a good start, having already gathered $286.00
by hosting a taco lunch at the Bank. And Security Federal
has jumped on the paddy wagon by having a couple of "blue jean"
and "tennis shoe" days.
Please help us get LeAnn out of jail! For more information
or to make a donation,
contact LeAnn Cartwright at 473-4483.

Larry Brown, Executive Vice-President, and Wayne Martin, Chief
Operations Officer/Sr. Vice-President both turned 60 this month. In
celebration, employees threw two different parties for the two

Cinco de Mayo |

It seems May 5th is going to be a very, very busy day.
The Relay for Life Team: Friends and Family of Sherry Pelham is
presenting Cruzin'
For
A Cure...a car and motorcycle show to be held at the Three
Star Mall parking lot on May 5th. All proceeds will be
donated to the Warren County
Relay for Life. Registration begins at 8:00AM, runs until
11:00AM and all makes, models, and years are welcome. The
judging begins at Noon with prizes being awarded in many
categories. For more information, call Monica at
(931)224-1882 or e-mail questions to
cruzinforacure@yahoo.com.
Next up on May 5th is the 2nd Annual Spring Blossom Baby Show,
and it's being
held at the Three Star Mall too. Age groups range from 6
months to 60 months for both boys and girls and the show starts
at 1:00PM. There'll also be a "Cutest Kid" photo contest
separate from the baby show. Applications for the show
must be turned in to Kathy's Bridal by April 20th, so you better
hurry. Just like the car show, all proceeds from the baby
show and photo contest will be donated to the Warren County
Relay for Life. For more information, call Tanarra Grissom
at (931)474-5284.
Don't go thinking the mall is the only place to be on May 5th.
Here on the West Lawn
of
Security Federal, starting at 1:00PM, the Warren County High
School Band Boosters will present this year's Pork and Bands.
Like always, there will be craft vendors, games for the kids, an
auction
and door prizes. And music? There will be plenty of
music...The Warren County Pioneerettes, Warren County Pioneer
Beginning Band, Warren County Pioneer Jazz Band, Warren County
Concert Band, Warren County Pioneer Symphonic Band, Paula's
Dance Academy, Midnight Visual Theatre, and The Crunk Effect will be
performing through out the day. On top of all that, they
will be giving away a 4-wheeler! For more information, call Tena Redmon at (931)473-2694.
Wait. There's more...In Security Federal's Trust and
Operations parking
lot the McMinnville Cruisers will be having their monthly
Cruise In. The gathering starts around 5:00PM with all
manner of cars, trucks, and motorcycles on display. The Cruisers
always have music and door prizes as well as concessions.
But on May 5th, they will be showing a hot rod movie as soon as
it gets dark enough to run. For more information, call
James Kirby at (931)607-9922 or (931)815-3946.
And that ain't all, folks. Let's not forget about the
16th Annual Highland Rim Bicycle
Classic.
Racers will begin showing up downtown the afternoon of May 5th
(registration at the Chamber of Commerce from 6:00PM to 8:00PM)
and the Warren County portion of the race with be on the 6th.
Several downtown businesses have a variety of plans for the
event. For more information, call the Chamber of Commerce
at (931)473-6611.
So...do you have something to do May 5th?

The Event |
|
The annual Relay for Life fund raising event held to generate
money for the American Cancer Society will be held this coming
weekend, June 1st and 2nd at Nunley
Stadium by the Warren County Middle School. This year all
the teams are going with a movie theme. In keeping with
the purpose, Team Security Federal has chosen the popular
Disney feature Angels in the
Outfield as our premise. And at the Security Federal booth
(beside the stage on the "Home" side) we will have blow up
baseball bats, baseballs, face painting, and (of course)
concessions.
For those that have never attended, Relay for Life is not just
another fund raiser. It is an event to be experienced.
There are activities everywhere, there is always something to
do, and there are tons of people you know. And, more
importantly, it's to help those in your community, your friends,
maybe even your relatives. So, come on down and have a big
time...and help out people.

The Effort |
|
The annual Relay for Life fund raising event held last Friday
and Saturday proved to be a great success. The bounty
turned out to be, not just a good time for everyone, but a total
of $117,000...a little over $1,750 of that raised by the
wonderful employees of Security Federal Savings Bank.
As always, the event itself was quite amazing with this year's
theme of motion pictures. And speaking of pictures,
click here to see a few from that
night.
Security Federal would like to thank all of our employees,
specifically Teresa Hennessee, Lisa Hillis, and Tracie Travis,
as well as all of the marvelous people that make the
contributions and do so much to make Relay for Life such a great

The McMinnville Cruisers have been at it again at Security

hot rods, street machines, and imports of all kinds. If
you love the sharp paint jobs, polished chrome, and the chatter
of car talk...this is the place for you. On top of that,
they have entertainment, concessions, door prizes, and

But, alas, summer is coming to an end. The Cruisers only
